We left bright and early to cross Blackfish Sound near slack to avoid any issue of currents combining with opposing winds to stack the waves up. We were underway by 5:30 AM and arrived at Port McNeill before 8:30 AM. We had to wait at the fuel dock until the harbour master office opened at 8:30 AM for our slip assignment (May 21).
The sky is clear right now and the forecast is for high pressure to build. NW winds are blowing pretty strongly but are forecast to ease overnight.
We expect to be here for a couple of nights. Unfortunately, we haven't licked our house battery bank issue. We'll make another attempt to resolve it while we're here.
