June 14th - Carriden Bay

Lots of miles under the keel today! We left Fury Cove shortly before 5 AM this morning into somewhat "lumpy" seas but forecasted to improve. By the time we got around Cape Caution, all we had were ocean swells with little more than rippling on the tops. The final run down Queen Charlotte Strait was on a mill pond. 

Ten hours and 68 miles later, we pulled into Carriden Bay (June 14). Carriden Bay is about 2 miles from Claydon Bay where we stayed on May 29. 

Since we've had so much windy and rainy weather, we thought it prudent to do a long day in good weather and get the exposed sections along the coast and down Queen Charlotte Strait behind us. We'll be cruising the inside for quite a ways with the exception of 14 miles in Johnstone Strait.
