June 26th - Tod Inlet, Vancouver Island

What would a trip to British Columbia be without a visit to Buchart Gardens? We made the run down along the west side of Saltspring Island through Sansum Narrows under glorious blue skies. Most of the time, we were on the flybridge enjoying the fine weather. We were anchored in Tod Inlet (June 26) by 10:10 AM.

A quick paddle to shore and a 10 minute walk brought us to the Buchart Garden entrance. Our previous trips have all been in Spring and the crowds of near Summer time are much greater. Nevertheless, the gardens were beautiful. The roses were pretty much all in bloom and there were some outstanding varieties. We brought a light lunch to eat on the grounds but did save room for gelato.

Back on the boat, the weather was suitable for lounging on the flybridge in the afternoon but the high overcast and cool wind makes us think some wetter weather is in store for us.

We're not sure where we'll go tomorrow. It might be another day in Canada but it could also be a return to the USA with an anchorage somewhere in the San Juans.
