We got a pretty good start on the morning despite the extra time to retrieve the stern tie and unkink the anchor shackle. We were away by 6:00 AM. The weather and seas remain calm and we rounded Cape Caution without any problem.
After yesterday's upsets, Marcia sequestered the cats in their carriers ahead of time. They remained in them until we entered completely into Fitz Hugh Sound.
We passed three or four hump back whales feeding. We came about a quarter mile away at the closest approach. We also passed another sleeping sea otter.
We had our anchor down in Green Island Anchorage (June 2) by about noon. We've come 505.5 miles since Anacortes.
We've been getting pretty good weather recently with no significant rain since May 26. For our exposed coast travel, the winds have been especially cooperative. It definitely feels like it is warming up, as well. I am composing this report from our fly bridge after having had lunch with the requisite post-cruise beer.
