June 15th - Kwatsi Bay

Is was a slow start to the day after the long one yesterday. The overcast skies contributed to the sluggishness. We were underway shortly after 9 AM.

As the morning went on, though, it steadily improved. By the time we got to Kwatsi Bay Marina (June 15 ), it was generally sunny. Along the way, we passed the 900 mile mark in our trip.

As we've cruised, we've asked others where they have been and places they recommend. Kwatsi Bay has come up regularly and after stopping, we can understand why. The setting is outstanding! It is at the northend of a bay with cliffs and waterfalls adorning the mountains on the other three sides.

2007-Cruise-334It is a small marina run by a couple and their two children. They live here year around. I am sure it is hard work but they get the satisfaction of directly seeing their efforts come to life in this truly spectacular locale.
